We collect as little as possible. We use no cookies for tracking, no third-party analytics and no advertising trackers. This page explains what we process, why, and your rights.

What we process

• Visiting the site. To show a page, our server receives your IP address and browser details. We do not store them in our database. Our hosting provider (Fly.io) may keep short technical logs.
• Your country. To decide which licences and partner links apply to you, our server looks up the country of your IP address in a database on our own server (DB-IP Lite). Your IP address is not sent anywhere for this, and we do not store the result.
• Reviews and correction reports. If you post one, we store what you write (rating, title, text, display name, optional country code and payout answers). Reviews are published after moderation. To prevent abuse (limits per day, one review per brand) we also store a one-way, salted code made from your IP address, not the address itself.
• Email list ("Verified Offers"). If you sign up, we store your email address, the country you choose, the country our server detected from your IP address, your language, the page where you signed up, the date, the version of the consent text you agreed to, a random code for the unsubscribe link and the salted code made from your IP address (to limit sign-ups). We send nothing until you confirm your address in a first email. After that we send offers and news that are allowed in your country. Each email has an unsubscribe link.
• "Helpful" votes. We store the same salted code to count one vote per visitor.
• Partner-link clicks. We count clicks per brand, country and day. We store nothing that identifies you.
• Page views. We count page views per page, day and referring website (for example a search engine). We store nothing that identifies you and use no cookies for this.
• The chat assistant. If the AI chat is switched on, your chat messages are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to create the answer. Do not type personal data into the chat. We do not store chat messages.
• Fonts and images load from our own server. We use no third-party fonts or scripts.

Why (legal basis)

We process this data to run the site and to protect it against abuse (legitimate interest), and to publish the reviews you choose to submit. We send emails only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

How long

Reviews stay until they are removed. The salted code is kept with the review, report or vote it belongs to. Email-list data stays while you are subscribed; when you unsubscribe we keep only the record that you unsubscribed, so we do not email you again. Click and page-view counts contain no personal data.

Hosting and transfers

The site is hosted by Fly.io, with the database in the Netherlands (Amsterdam) and a second server in the United States for faster pages. The AI chat, when switched on, uses Anthropic. When we start sending emails, we will use an email provider and name it here. These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States.

Your rights

You can ask for access to, correction of or deletion of your data, and you can object to processing. Write to hello@ultimateowner.com. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
