As of : BetMGM in Europe belongs to MGM Resorts International, the NYSE-listed US casino company, through its subsidiary LeoVegas Group. It is not the US BetMGM, which MGM owns 50/50 with Entain. Who is behind it
MGM Resorts International bought LeoVegas Group in 2022 for about US$604m and took it off Nasdaq Stockholm. LeoVegas now runs the BetMGM name in Europe: betmgm.co.uk for the UK, betmgm.nl for the Netherlands and betmgm.se for Sweden.
The US business is a different company. There, BetMGM is a joint venture in which MGM holds 50% and Entain holds the rest. The European and US sites share a name and one parent, but not a company, a licence or a customer account.
Licence and what it means for you
The Spelinspektionen register lists betmgm.se under MGMNordic Ltd, with one licence for online gaming and one for betting. Both run from 16 October 2024 to 15 October 2029.
