Who is behind it

Rootz is privately held. It launched Wildz in 2019, Caxino in 2020 and Wheelz in 2021. Today the Wheelz footer names a different company, Granturo Malta Ltd, company number C107733, at the same street address as Rootz. Caxino and Spinz show the same change. It has not been made public whether this is a restructuring inside the group or a sale, so we show Rootz as the owner and Granturo as the company that runs the site.

Licence and what it means for you

The Malta Gaming Authority issued licence MGA/B2C/1079/2025 to Granturo Malta Ltd in September 2025. Wheelz has a Finnish-language site, and Finland is one of its markets in our data. It does not hold a Finnish licence today. Veikkaus keeps the exclusive right to online casino games in Finland until the new Gambling Act takes effect. Until then, a player in Finland is protected by Maltese rules, not Finnish ones.

What each licence means, and self-exclusion

The Finnish licence claim

In October 2026 Wildz Group said it had received a letter from Finland's National Police Board that grants it a five-year licence for online casino and betting. The company's list of brands for that licence includes Wheelz. The National Police Board has not published any licence decision, so the claim rests on the company's own statement. If it is confirmed, the licence would start when the new Finnish system opens.
