Who is behind it

BetCity joined Entain in January 2023 and gave the group a Dutch sports betting and casino brand. Entain names it in its own brand list. The parent, Entain plc, is based in the Isle of Man and its shares trade in London as ENT. In our data no other Entain brand uses BetCity's licence holder, BetEnt B.V.

Licence and what it means for you

The Kansspelautoriteit is a strict regulator. Dutch rules apply to players in the Netherlands. The Cruks self-exclusion register covers all sites with a Dutch licence, so a Cruks registration also blocks BetCity.

Sister sites

Entain runs 33 other brands in our data, but none of them shares BetEnt B.V. The nearest product matches are Sportingbet, bwin and Ladbrokes, which also combine sports betting and casino. A Cruks registration blocks every Dutch-licensed site, while an account-level self-exclusion at BetCity does not reach Entain sites outside the Netherlands.

Same owner often means the same terms, the same support team and the same payout rules. A self-exclusion at one brand may not cover its sister sites.
